Blogging Assignment! Create your own Avatar!

Step 1: Create an avatar for you to use when leaving comments!  Avatars are a representation of yourself. Check out this post about avatars.  Create your avatar using one of the websites below.

Step 2: Once you have created your avatar and transferred it to your post like mine below, I would like you to explain, in words, why you designed your avatar the way you did.

Any age can use these avatar sites:

“Blogging Assignment! Create your own Avatar!”

When I talk to students about Digital Citizenship I always suggest they use an avatar instead of posting their own picture online. Creating your own avatar can be lots of fun. I think it is great that you have asked your students to explain why they designed their avatar they way they did. Why did you design your avatar the way you did?

Thanks for the comment Mrs.Barrett! Yes, it will great to see our class create their own unique Avatars!! We will be starting these Friday, so check back then :)

What inspired my “Wild Self” Avatar?

Bat ears and wings – My favorite comic character growing up was Batman! I’m still a huge fan of the comics, and Christian Bale’s recent performances.

Jelly fish bottom and spider crab claws – these represent my deep connection to the ocean. Growing up on the coast of Nova Scotia I enjoyed many summers in the Atlantic Ocean. Crab is pretty delicious too! :)

Fly eyes – Insects are just cool! Come on!

Antlers – these represent my new life in Alberta!

I bult my avatar the way I did because I wanted my charater to look as much like me as possible. My avatar is like me because I wear my hair spiked up in the air and I also wear glasses every day. I didn’t really like the style of the glasses they offered me so I chose to go with sports goggles!

I made an avatar so if a creepy person comes online they don’t get to see my actual face.

The only reason why i put all the things on my avatar is because i like all of those animals. :)

I like the lion because it is a ferocious animal! Other animals fear it!

I chose the ape because they are so strong and apes can climb trees like me.

The snake is fast and is able to get away from predators! I sometimes find myself running from people :)

I created my avatar like this because I thought it would look more like me then any of the other styles, and i think the hair kind of suits me… i tried to make it look like me as much as possible!

I made my avatar this way because I like to play lots of sports and being outside. My avatar tries to show this.
